WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?
You will meet with Dr. Rodriguez and discuss your issues and concerns in full detail. At that time, you will help Dr. Rodriguez come up with a comprehensive and personalized treatment plan to best address your needs.
WHAT KIND OF TESTING SHOULD I EXPECT?
Many times, we are able to find answers with simple blood tests and urine samples. If necessary, Dr. Rodriguez will perform additional testing such as a CAT Scan, MRI, Discography, Myleogram, EMG, bone density tests or other imaging. This will always be discussed with you prior to being ordered.
HOW OFTEN DO I HAVE TO COME TO THE OFFICE?
Dr. Rodriguez will create a follow up plan that is convenient specifically for your schedule.
WHAT INSURANCES DOES THE PAIN RELIEF CENTER ACCEPT?
The Pain Relief Center takes all Private, UHC, BCBS, Cigna, Humana, & Aetna Insurance, including PPO & HMO with a referral. Medicare is only taken as a secondary insurance.
WILL MY INSURANCE COVER THIS TESTING?
In many instances, insurance plans will cover some or all of the testing. For any costs that are not covered by insurance, Dr. Rodriguez offers a variety of payment options to fit every financial situation. These options will be made available to you prior to any testing or treatment.
DOES THE PAIN RELIEF CENTER ACCEPT CASH PAYMENTS?
The Pain Relief Center does not accept cash payments. The center also does not accept Medicaid.
WHAT ARE THE PRE-PROCEDURE INSTRUCTIONS?
Before Procedure
Nothing by mouth before the procedure including, juice, gum, mints, etc.
Morning Surgery
Do not eat or drink after midnight the night before your procedure. Brush teeth without swallowing water.
Afternoon Surgery
You may eat a light meal eight (8) hours and clear liquids six (6) hours prior to your procedure. Nothing by mouth at least six (6) hours prior to your procedure.
WHEN TO STOP MEDICATIONS AND/OR ALCOHOL PRIOR TO A PROCEDURE?
Alcohol
NO Alcohol for 24 hours prior to the procedure.
Coumadin
Coumadin must be stopped prior to your procedure.
You MUST consult with your prescribing physician for appropriate directions BEFORE stopping this medication.
Aspirin
Stop aspirin for seven (7) days prior to your scheduled procedure.
If you are taking aspirin for your heart, speak with your cardiologist BEFORE stopping this medication.
Insulin
Take 1/2 of your prescribed insulin dosages the morning of your procedure.
For afternoon procedures, drink 4-6 ounces of juice with morning insulin. Please bring insulin with you on the day of your procedure.
Other Prescribed Medications
Take your prescribed morning medications with a sip of water the day of your procedure.
WHAT ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE DAY OF THE PROCEDURE?
Pre-Operation
Check in one (1) hour before your procedure time.
Late arrival may necessitate cancellation.
ID and Insurance
Bring a picture I.D. and all applicable insurance cards (including co insurance).
Please check with your insurance company for deductible/ co payment amounts.
Ride
A Responsible Adult Companion MUST drive you home and aid in your care after your procedure.
Dress
Wear loose comfortable clothing. Do not wear eye contacts, please wear your glasses instead.
Belongings
Do not bring anything of value.
Sterility of procedure area
You should shower or bathe the evening before or the morning of your procedure.
